Led by Dennis Gallagher, the 25 members of the Delaware County Technical Rescue Team support local municipal, county, state, and federal response to search and rescue operations. Activities include training and exercises, response to emergency situations for the purpose of location, rescue, and initial medical stabilization of individuals trapped in confined spaces. USAR is considered a multi-hazard discipline, as it may be needed for a variety of emergencies or disasters, including earthquakes, hurricanes, typhoons, storms, tornadoes, floods, dam failures, technological accidents, terrorist activities, and hazardous materials releases.
